Sazerac



The Sazerac is a historic cocktail from New Orleans that is often called one of the first cocktails ever made. There is a hint of sweetness in this tasty mix of rye whiskey, bitters, and absinthe.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz rye whiskey
  • 1 sugar cube
  • 3 dashes Peychaud's Bitters
  • Absinthe rinse
  • Lemon peel, for garnish

Instructions:

Rinse a cold glass with absinthe and throw away the extra

In a different glass, crush the sugar cube and Peychaud's Bitters together

Mix in the ice and rye whiskey until the drink is very cold

Pour the mixture into the glass that has been prepared

Add the oil from a lemon peel to the drink and then throw away the peel
